Anú Rising Was Created From A Foundation Of Education & Celebration

Everything I Design Is Created To Benefit You, Your Body & Our Planet

Anú Rising began as a concept deeply rooted in my own personal healing journey through menstrual cycle awareness. For years, I had been diving into the cycles of the moon, womb, and life, learning to embrace the natural changes within my own body. This exploration became a profound part of my life, and I felt strongly that more women needed to embrace and honor their own cycles in the same way I had.

Through this journey, I also found myself reconnecting with Celtic traditions, which have always been a strong part of my heritage. It was during this time that Anú, also known as the Goddess Danú, revealed herself to me. She is the Mother of the Tuatha Dé Danann, a mystical race of kings, queens, bards, warriors, heroes, and healers from the "Otherworld," with control over the land’s fertility.

The Paps of Anú, two sacred mountains in Co. Kerry, have held deep symbolism for me. Resembling the shape of a woman’s breasts, with two mounds believed to be a megalithic tomb and a cairn, they became a powerful symbol of the feminine and the cycles of life. I first encountered these mountains at age 18, during my first trip away from home, not fully understanding their significance at the time. But 18 years later, they have become central to my work and my ongoing personal journey.

Anú Rising is an extension of this connection to the feminine, to the land, and to the cycles that govern our lives. It is a space for women to learn, heal, and celebrate their own journeys with the wisdom of the cycles, just as I have done.

Embrace The Power Of Cycles

I am deeply passionate about the power of cycle awareness and its potential to transform the world. Since 2020, I’ve had the privilege of guiding Women's Circles, Yoga classes, retreats, and facilitating Reiki trainings with a focus on womb healing, helping others reconnect with their natural rhythms.

In these years, I’ve dedicated myself to studying and observing my own cycle, learning to embrace the natural changes that occur and using them to my advantage. This journey led me to a deeper connection with Celtic history and mythology, as Menstrual Cycle Awareness and the wisdom of our ancestors seemed to intertwine naturally. Feeling called by the energy of sacred sites around Ireland, I listened to my intuition and discovered the joy and pleasure of feminine-centered work. It was during this time that I could no longer ignore the calling of Anú.

Anú Rising is more than just a brand—it’s a creative extension of Yoga Energy With Katie, offering products that honor the cycles of the moon, womb, and life itself. Each product is crafted with intention to support you on your personal journey of self-care and cyclical living.

How to Use The Anú Rising Cycle Journal

The most effective way to truly understand and embrace your cycle is by tracking it daily. The Anú Rising Cycle Journal is designed for anyone seeking to live a more feminine and cyclical lifestyle, regardless of their menstrual status. Whether you're menstruating, menopausal, or simply seeking to reconnect with nature's rhythms, this journal is your guide to honoring the ebb and flow of your body’s natural energy.

Why Track Your Cycle?

Throughout each month, your hormones rise and fall, influencing everything from your mood and appetite to your creativity, sociability, and energy levels. By tracking these fluctuations, you gain profound insight into your body’s unique rhythms. When you become attuned to these natural changes, you can make more intuitive decisions about when to work, rest, and play, allowing for a life that feels more balanced, in tune, and authentic.

Aligning Your Cycle with the Seasons

The Anú Rising Cycle Journal isn’t just about tracking your physical cycle—it teaches you how to connect your cycle with the natural rhythms of the seasons, so you can align your life with the greater flow of nature. Each phase of your cycle corresponds to a season, bringing an opportunity to embrace specific energies that influence everything from your productivity to your self-care.

Winter (Menstruation or New Moon): This phase is about rest, introspection, and renewal. Just as winter is a time of stillness and dormancy in nature, your body needs time to slow down and restore its energy. Use this time to reflect, reset, and nurture yourself, honoring the need for deep rest and quiet space to recharge.

Spring (Pre-Ovulation or Waxing Moon): As nature begins to bloom in spring, your energy also rises, bringing creativity, new ideas, and enthusiasm for projects. This is the time to plan, take inspired action, and set new intentions. Just as the earth awakens and grows, you can use this phase to cultivate new beginnings.

Summer (Ovulation or Full Moon): During summer, everything is in full bloom, and so are you. This is the phase of peak energy, sociability, and outward expression. Like the sun at its brightest, your vitality and ability to connect with others are at their height. Celebrate your achievements, embrace your social energy, and enjoy the abundance of life during this phase.

Autumn (Post-Ovulation or Waning Moon): As the days begin to shorten and nature prepares for the quieter months, your energy starts to wane. This is a time to consolidate, complete projects, and tie up loose ends. It's a moment for reflection, preparation, and letting go of what no longer serves you, making space for the inward journey ahead.

How to Track

Daily Reflections: Take a moment each day to record how you feel physically, emotionally, and mentally. Track changes in your energy, appetite, creativity, and mood to begin identifying the natural patterns that shape your cycle. Over time, these reflections will help you understand the ebbs and flows of your body’s unique rhythm.

Self-Care Rituals: Reflect on how you’re nurturing yourself during each phase. Are you honoring your need for rest during your ‘winter,’ or embracing your social energy during ‘summer’? Tracking your self-care practices will guide you toward a more balanced and intentional approach to living in alignment with your cycle.

Monthly Overview: At the end of each cycle, take time to review your journal. This overview will give you valuable insights into recurring patterns, helping you better prepare for future cycles and become more in tune with your body’s needs.

Embrace Cyclical Living

By embracing cyclical living and aligning with the natural rhythms of your body, you can invite more flow, ease, and authority into your life. With the Anú Rising Cycle Journal, you’ll not only track your cycle—you’ll connect deeply with the wisdom of the seasons and harness the transformative power of your natural rhythms.

Understanding The Phases Of The Moon

The Moon follows a continuous cycle of phases, changing its appearance as it orbits the Earth. This cycle, known as the lunar cycle, takes approximately 29.5 days to complete. The phases are caused by the changing angles between the Moon, Earth, and Sun. Below are the primary phases of the Moon:

Tahereh Mafi

"The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections."

New Moon

  • What Happens: The Dark Moon occurs when the Moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun, and the side of the Moon facing Earth is completely in shadow. The Moon is invisible from Earth, marking the start of a new lunar cycle.

  • Energy & Symbolism: The Dark Moon is a time of deep introspection, rest, and release. It’s a period for letting go of what no longer serves you and clearing the path for new intentions. This phase invites you to connect with your inner self, surrender, and embrace silence and renewal. It's a time to reflect on what you want to create or manifest in the coming cycle.

  • Celtic Goddess Connection: The Dark Moon is connected to Cailleach, the Celtic Crone goddess. Cailleach is associated with the winter months, symbolizing transformation, endings, and wisdom. Her energy invites you to embrace rest and reflect on the lessons of the past.

  • Hindu Goddess Connection: In Hindu tradition, the Dark Moon is linked to Kali, the goddess of destruction and transformation. Kali represents the death of the old to make space for the new, making the Dark Moon a powerful time for releasing what no longer serves you and preparing for rebirth.

Waxing Moon

  • What Happens: Half of the Moon is illuminated, appearing as a half-circle. This phase occurs about a week after the Dark Moon.

  • Energy & Symbolism: The First Quarter represents new beginnings. It’s a time to take the inspiration and intentions set during the Dark Moon and begin to act on them. This phase is about initiating projects, setting things in motion, and embracing the courage to start fresh. It's an energetic push to move forward with new goals and ideas.

  • Celtic Goddess Connection: The First Quarter is connected to Brigid, the Celtic goddess of fire, fertility, and inspiration. She represents new beginnings and creativity, guiding you to take action on the ideas and dreams you have been nurturing during the Dark Moon.

  • Hindu Goddess Connection: The First Quarter phase is tied to Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, arts, and learning. As the Moon begins to wax, Saraswati’s energy supports new ventures and creative expression.

Full Moon

  • What Happens: The Earth is between the Moon and the Sun, fully illuminating the Moon. This phase is considered the peak of the lunar cycle.

  • Energy & Symbolism: The Full Moon symbolizes action, culmination, and manifestation. It’s a time to take bold steps, complete projects, and bring your intentions to fruition. The energy is high and vibrant, encouraging you to take charge and make things happen. This is a powerful phase for outward expression and celebration of achievements.

  • Celtic Goddess Connection: The Full Moon is linked to Danú, the Celtic goddess of fertility, abundance, and the earth. Danú represents the creative and nurturing forces of life, and the Full Moon embodies her energy of fertility and growth. This is a time to harvest the fruits of your efforts, whether in your personal life, creativity, or goals.

  • Hindu Goddess Connection: In Hinduism, the Full Moon is associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance, prosperity, and good fortune. Lakshmi’s energy brings wealth and blessings, and during the Full Moon, she invites you to open yourself to the abundance that is already present in your life, as well as the manifestation of your desires.

Waning Moon

What Happens: The Moon appears as a half-circle again, but this time the left side is illuminated. The Last Quarter marks the final phase of the lunar cycle.

  1. Energy & Symbolism: The Last Quarter is a time of reflection and harvest. Like the autumn season, it’s a moment to reap the rewards of the work done during the previous phases. It’s a time to evaluate what has been accomplished, gather lessons learned, and let go of anything that no longer serves your growth. Just as autumn is a time for shedding leaves, this phase encourages you to release and prepare for the quiet, restorative energy of the Dark Moon ahead.

  2. Celtic Goddess Connection: The Last Quarter corresponds to the energy of Morrigan, the Celtic goddess of sovereignty, death, and transformation. Morrigan guides you in reflecting on what has been accomplished and what needs to be let go of in preparation for new beginnings.

  3. Hindu Goddess Connection: The Last Quarter phase is associated with Durga, the warrior goddess who symbolizes strength, protection, and the harvest of inner power. Durga’s energy invites you to reflect on your achievements, release any remaining attachments, and prepare for the renewal of the Dark Moon cycle.
